FAQ
Straight answers about how home2pros works today. We’re in free beta — details can improve, but we won’t invent features that aren’t on the site.
Is it free for homeowners?
Yes. Posting a job and using the site as a homeowner is free. The homepage says zero fees for homeowners — ever.
What do contractors pay?
During beta, contractors can use the site for free. After beta, the plan is a flat monthly price to bid and message — not per-lead fees. There is no lead buying on home2pros.
How does bidding, Q&A, accept, and chat work?
A homeowner posts a job (details, photos, area). Local contractors can view it, ask public questions, and place bids. The homeowner reviews bids and can accept one. Accepting opens private chat between that homeowner and that contractor so they can talk details, share contact info, and arrange to meet.
Are contractor names hidden in public Q&A?
Yes. Public Q&A labels questions as from a “Contractor” (not a company name), so answers can help everyone without turning the thread into spam or a sales pitch. Names and contact details stay for the private side of the process (bids / chat after accept), as designed on the site.
Do you sell my info or leads?
No. We don’t sell your personal information or auction jobs as leads to the highest bidder. Job details are shown to contractors on the platform so they can bid. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
Where does the work get finalized?
On the site you connect: chat, exchange contact info, then meet or agree offline. home2pros is a handshake marketplace — we don’t run escrow, take payments for the job, or hold money for the work.
Do jobs auto-close?
Open jobs may close automatically if they’re left open too long with no activity. There’s a daily check for inactivity so stale posts don’t sit forever. If you still need the work done, you can post again or keep an active job moving (respond to bids/questions, keep things going).
How do I get help?
Email hometopros@gmail.com. We’re a small team and we’ll get back to you.
Accounts and canceling a job
You create a customer or contractor account to post, bid, and message. Homeowners can cancel a job from their dashboard when it no longer needs bids. Contractors manage their profile and bids from the pro side. You can contact us if you need help with your account.
Do you verify licenses for me?
No automated license-verification system is built into the platform. The site’s guidance is that you verify your pro before hiring — check references, licenses, and insurance the way you would offline. We’re a connection tool, not a guarantee of any contractor’s credentials.
